Affiliate Computer Services, Inc. (ACS) is seeking an individual with demonstrated ability to perform under minimum supervision. An individual who can perform all of the duties and responsibilities of a senior developer working in a team environment. The position is in our Applications Support Division working on assigned projects; reporting to Group Manager or Team Lead.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sr .NET Developer is responsible for performing analysis and the more difficult programming work including the creation of programming specifications based on previously approved system specifications, as well as detailed logic design, coding, testing and documentation.
The individual will work with users and other project team members to support new and existing applications (Microsoft Access 97/2000/2003 and Excel/VB applications) on MS Windows 2000/XP platforms and develop and support Internet/Intranet applications. This includes the migration of legacy applications to the .NET platform.
It is preferable that the individual is proficient or has a strong working knowledge of n-tier client/server web development and programming tools on MS Windows 2000/XP platform.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Strongly prefer the individual have or be familiar with the following skills and experience:
* 6 years or more experience in software design and development;
* Significant experience in a disciplined development environment;
* 2 years or more experience with Microsoft C# development;
* Significant experience with ASP.Net development;
* Proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio.Net 2005;
* Experience with Crystal Report;
* Experience with database design and development;
* Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and 2005;
* Experience with source control applications;
* Ability to provide accurate estimates of development effort;
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Programming Languages:
* The qualified candidate should be able to maintain complex applications developed using Access/Oracle 8, 8i/SQL Server 2000/2005, Visual Basic 6 and VB.NET;
* Build robust Web based components, reusable web controls and other re-useable code libraries using C# / VB.NET.
* Knowledge of relational databases including use and development of stored procedures, indexes, triggers, views, table design is strongly desired.
* Knowledge of C#, VB.NET, Crystal Reports, HTML, ASP.NET, JavaScript, XML, Cascading Style Sheets, AJAX is required.
The following skills are a plus:
* Sharepoint Portal Server, Biztalk Server and Microsoft Reporting Services;
* Windows Workflow Foundation;
* Windows Communication Foundation;
* Web Services;
* Enterprise Library.
Experience:
* The qualified candidate should have solid experience in developing n-tier applications with Microsoft .Net technology (C#, ASP.NET, AJAX, HTML, CSS, XML, XSD, XSLT, JavaScript, VBScript, ActiveX, DHTML, SOAP, SOA architecture, SourceSafe etc).
* It is desirable that the candidate have good analytical and problem solving skills, is capable of working with diverse user groups and experience leading and mentoring other team members.
